What's covered

Whatever you need. Billed honestly.

  • Content updates

New photos, updated text, price changes, holiday hours, seasonal banners. Most content updates take 15–30 minutes.

  • Small design tweaks

Color adjustments, typography refinements, button changes, layout fixes. Small things that make the site feel intentional.

  • New pages or sections

Adding a new service page, a team page, a gallery, a landing page for a campaign. Larger work, quoted up front before any time is billed.

  • Performance & SEO check-ins

Quarterly performance audits, broken link checks, Core Web Vitals monitoring. Available as a one-off or built into a small retainer.

  • Bug fixes

If something breaks on a site I built, I fix it. Most issues caused by my work are resolved at no charge — that's the standard.

  • Honest scoping

Anything over 2 hours gets a quote up front. You'll know what something will cost before I touch the code.

FAQ

Common questions. Answered honestly.

  • I didn't build my site with you. Can you still maintain it?

Depends on how it was built. Modern static sites (Astro, Next.js, Hugo) — yes. WordPress sites — sometimes, if they're relatively clean. Wix, Squarespace, GoDaddy builders — no, those platforms don't allow outside developers to make most changes. Send me your URL and I'll let you know.

  • How fast can you make changes?

For small content updates: same day or next day, Mon–Fri. For larger work: I'll quote a timeline up front. For genuine emergencies (site down, broken contact form), I respond as soon as I see the message.

  • Why $60/hour and not a monthly retainer?

Honestly? Most small businesses don't need a retainer's worth of work each month, and paying for hours you don't use feels bad. I'd rather have you pay only for what you need and have you trust me as a result. If you do find yourself sending lots of requests, I'll suggest a retainer at that point.

  • What if I want a major redesign?

That's a new project, not a maintenance task. I'll scope it as a fixed-price web build instead of hourly. Discovery call → fixed quote → fixed timeline.

  • Can you train me to update my own site?

Often, yes. If your site uses a CMS or content collections, I'll show you how to make basic changes yourself for free. Some clients prefer to handle their own updates and only call me for tricky stuff — that's a perfectly good way to work.
